22/05/2017 Around 10:30pm a senseless act of brutality took place in Manchester, the city I call home. After what should have been the night of pure joy, 22 people lost their lives, over 59 people sustained serious injuries. Thousands, if not millions began to mourn.
The Day after
Today has been a day full of sorrow and pain.
This feeling shows no sign of slowing down.
Some did not make it home last night and because of this, today we suffer.
Many did not sleep, too many now sleep for ever.
Manchester, our beautiful city is shook to the core.
My fellow Mancunians, I am proud to call you my family.
I am filled with pride to hear of the selfless act of kindness being shown throughout our country.
These adverse times test the resilience of Manchester and who we are but we stall tall and hold our community high.
Manchester, I take comfort in your strength and solace in your kindness.
My darling Manchester, I weep with you in this time of sorrow.
We grieve together like too many times before.
One day we will hold our heads high and remember all that we have lost, remember their beauty, their life and their heart!
Buildings do not make a city, We the people do!
We Mancunians are made of good stuff, WE stand together, WE fight and we NEVER back down.
